Yea, and go to the rest of the world and you will find its the best there is. Thats the sad part. Imagine if you are in Germany, and just one man decides your fate. No jury. Or in Africa, where they might shoot ya on the spot.

We've got the weakest sentencing in the world - and that spawns more crime because there is no fear of being put to death or even no fear of prison anymore.

Anyone who could kill their children has to be insane or just completely evil. What is needed is "guilty by reason of insanity" instead of "not guilty." I'm not sure of all the evidence presented, however, I know some people who have significant, real, clinical depression. I have had real clinical depression. I nor anyone else I've known to have this have ever snapped or come close to killing anyone, so blaming it all on post-partum depression is suspect to me.

Actually, the U.S. is one of the few developed countries that still uses the death penalty. In fact, the majority of countries around the world have. If it had happened in Mexico, Zimbabwe, Israel, Europe, or elsewhere, she would be facing life in prison as the maximum sentence.

The average is 10 years.
I don't like the rules surrounding insanity as a defense, but those rules exist almost everywhere, also.

They got it easy. The women are usually sent to a nice dormatory environment with 3 squares a day, freeclothes, internet, color TV and a job that fits their heritage.
