JERUSALEM (CNN) -- Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, appearing Tuesday at a news conference with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, said Israel will continue its offensive against Hezbollah militants in southern Lebanon.[/b]
"Israel is determined to continue on in the fight against Hezbollah," Olmert said. "We will not hesitate to take severe measures against those who are aiming thousands of rockets and missiles against innocent civilians for the sole purpose of killing them."
I wonder how many innocents are going to have to die before Hezballah finally gives in. The sad thing is that the Isreali's will not be able to wipe them off of the face of the earth, but hopefully they will be able to get a safety zone established to prevent these scumbags from firing more rockets into Isreal.

That will depend on Hezbollah's faith in their own rhetoric and their resolve to destroy Israel , and Israel will never back down until they're no longer a threat . It will also depend on the Lebanese goob getting off their dead asses and booting those scum out of Lebanon once and for all , which they probably won't do . I'm seeing increasing signs in the news that the Arab world is becoming tired of Hezbollah's antics , maybe if they lose enough support they'll back down . They can't win a war against Israel alone , so if enough Arab countries turn their backs on them Israel will eventually win by attrition . The Lebanese will pay a terrible price because of Hezbollah regardless .

RE: Israel says offensive will continue
For once we are benefitting due to someone else getting the job done. Leave them alone and let Israel do their job to fight back and eliminate Hezbollah. If they do a good enough job then perhaps we won't get sucked into it like usual.

Kind of a catch-22 situation. If Israel doesn't stop attacking Lebanon, the Middle East could become embroiled in a war. But if Israel stops attacking Lebanon, the Hezbollah raids and rocket attacks will resume within months and then the Middle East could become embroiled in a war.

Israel should continue the offensive, & I hope we continue to arm them to do so with the best weaponry available. They are fighting Islamic terror, same as we are. These terror organizations & those who support them have shown in every instance they want no peace, only the obliteration of Israel. They have never lived up to their promises in negotiations, & unfortunately the only way to deal with them is to destroy them. It's a sad reality, however a reality nonetheless.
