Free ride for evacuees?

At first they were going to charge them "the commercial rate plus $1."

Now they'll get a free ride as they are evacuated on beautiful cruise ships.

Should they pay their own freight out of Lebananon or should the taxpayers of America pay?

They chose to be in a dangerous country , they should pay to get out .
I read on Fox news that some of the Americans being evacuated have actually had the nerve to complain about how slowly it's happening , in a conflict as fast moving as this one they're lucky they're still alive at all .

not unlike Katrina evacuees, complaining about being rescued from a situation they themselves have gotten into

wait and see , not only will their passage be free, but I bet they will be given money to start their lives over

If they are there on US government business then yes, otherwise they chose to be there at thier own cost, they should pay thier way out.

I think our gov will jump at the chance to spend money. I think it's a nice gesture sure, but why are they there in the first place? What was wrong with staying home? Unless as Taz pointed out, if they are there on US gov biz, then leave em.

Don't goobermint employees have to volunteer for duty in risky countires , and do they draw more pay for accepting such assignments ?

they should pay there own way. If they want to see the place and have the government pay for it they should have joined the military!

Pay their own way. Their choce to be there and it is usually for the big money and tax savings. If the us tax payers foot the bill then complaints should flow. Of course that assumes there is someone who even cares to listen.
