Default Penn & Sarandon on hunger strike

This is just too good to be true. What a bogus bunch of bull. A "rolling programme" of fasts? The idea is to fast for a few hours and then pass the fasting on to someone else while you go grab a bite. Ridiculous.

Hollywood heavyweights Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon have announced they are to take part in a hunger strike as a protest in support of anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan, whose soldier son Casey was killed in Iraq in 2004.

At a press conference in front of the White House, Sheehan said, "Everything we do is to get our troops to come home. We want to show the world that there are Americans who are committed to peace. Fasting is such a time-honoured way of protest."

Aswell as Penn and Sarandon, a host of other stars are getting involved including 'Lethal Weapon' actor Danny Glover and country music legend Willie Nelson. They plan to take turns to abstain from food on set days in a "rolling programme" of fasts until September 21st 2006 - International Peace Day.

LOL. They're going to stop eating for a few hours. Yeah, that'll really make a political statement!

It's too bad it isn't a TRUE hunger strike. I was going to suggest that we all encourage them and maybe they'd starve to death before they realize differently.

It won't hurt Sarandon to miss a mea...[&:]

Penn has been on the "do not like list" since I can remember.

Sarandon etched hername in aplace of even further disgust
while carrying a corner of the US flag during the opening
ceremony of the Olympics. All other carriers in step, their
section of the flag straight & taut. Then there she was
looking drunk, her corner sagging one step, flopping the next.

I have a strong dis-like of both of them[>:]
This just shows how stupid they really are.

Lmao, this kind of sorry excuse for a political stunt further exemplifies how meaningless and irrelevant these celebrity types are.

I think it's high time for Team America 2. We can't mock these people enough. [8D]

Team America 2, sounds like a great idea! I'd love to see what they do with Adjmawhatever in Iran...

Seems like they've taken a page from Saddam in this "rolling" hunger strike garbage, or am I the only one seeing the similarities?

I was looking for a McRib sandwich the other day also. Now that was a good sandwich.
