Death cheats the Justice Dept.

Kenneth Lay , founder of Enron and one of the biggest corporate pirates ever convicted has died of a heart attack , probably from imagining the welcome that Bubba had in store for him . Good riddance .

his death is not newsworthy IMO - his friends and family will likely miss him, his children etc. I hope his heart was right with God.

He was a very shrewd and clever businessman, who built Enron from a little no-name company to a giant. He was probably a good person, he was just weak and caved when the temptation grew too great.

I'd be willing to bet many people passing judgment on him now would have taken the same path if it was their money on the line.[:-]

I agree with NT. You don't build billion$ corporations from scratch without a set that clanks, enough determination to climb Everest and guts the likes of which 99% of us lack. I also agree he let the power and money corrupt him. EGO... it gets em every time.

Condolences too his family, he's still someones father, husband and son!

He was the P.O.S. that took every thing that his employees had.The greats thing a man can do is make his employees lives the best possible .His workers made him and he sh!t on them in thanks.
I can not believe he made it to trial without bullet wounds.
His denial and lack of remorse show the real man people will remember.
Anyone that runs a company knows that when you go public with it you have to answer to stock holders not just to yourself , he was a failure at both.

Being shrewd and clever is no cover for using
illegal and unethical means of making your money
AND allowing those under your leadership to be
ruined. Power and wealth are for sure the great
seducers and there are no claims here of being
strong enough to resist the grip. That's why I've
chosen a life of lower-middle class mediocrity[8D].
