I support the initiative to criminalize desecration of the flag. Flag Burners graphically portray complete and total disdain and antagonism for the U.S. and everyone who ever fought and died for it, defended it, or just plain lives there. To do so in a public forum is to publicly declare "I am an enemy of the United States, and they should consider me THEIR enemy". Why else would someone destroy the symbol of this country ? I consider Flag-burning the same sort of '1st Amendment right' as going up to someone's mother and punching her in the mouth because her kid's an idiot. You just don't do it.

I agree that it's disgusting that a nation sworn to defeat us is sewing our flags. Those who buy product from China are entrepeneurs, pure and simple...the only focus is the American Dollar. We are, however, a Capitalist country and profit is the motive for all selling, I would think. So, wherver possible, I exercise my ability to choose whom I patronize. I do not patronize foreign importers if I can buy an American-made product. The following is a list of suppliers/retailers who carry American Flags "MADE IN THE U.S.A.":

I know and it's pitiable. Didn't that happen after Clinton signed NAFTA ? I don't blame Democrats or even Clinton..there was bipartisan support for NAFTA and it sucks. So, Ford's in Mexico and Chevy's in Canada (or the other way 'round ?). The ***anese build auto plants here in the USA and we don't even call 'em imports anymore. They sell us steel for our "American Made" cars. Where the Germans used to be the premier engineers of optical lenses, Yashika now grinds lenses for Karl Zeiss, Kahles and who knows who else. Brownings used to be made in Belgium and Weatherby used to be made in Germany...now they make them all in ***an and just stamp the names on 'em. Winchester in the USA is gone...
I guess it's amazing that we can get something as simple as a flag made in the USA. I remember when imports were 'cheap' and unreliable. Now, "Buy American" is considered stupid if we can get an 'import' for less yet I still choose an American product; I support US companies whenever I can so I guess I'm a dinosaur in my Chevy Pickup.
