Wya thinks we are safe. The boarder with Mexico should be mined. Some anti personal land mines would keep this scum south of the boarder.

According to some reports they're helping the *******s cross undetected and fleecing them before they cross . Wouldn't surprise me if that were true .

$20 billion dollars. That is what the illegal entrants are sending home to Mexico. The Mexican government is corrupt, as is their law enforcement and military infrastructure. They will be no help to stemming the tide.

This is an issue with which I differ greatly with Pres. Bush. I personally am keeping on my congressmen to enforce the borders & punish those who use & abuse the illegal labor before any other measures are taken.

The people of Mexico are trying to make a better life for themselves. If you were in their shoes wouldn't you do the same thing? They live in a county where the government wants them poor and will not help them. Corruption is as bad as it gets.

If the US turned it's back on you and your only hope was to run across the border to Canada you and thousands of others would do the same thing and you would send money back to help your loved ones.It's easy to call them names and look down on them when you have it so good.

If the US wants to stop the the illegal immigration they should force the government of Mexico to clean up it's act. The only thing we in the US do is ship our jobs down to Mexico so we can get our products made cheaper buy paying the Mexican worker five dollars a day. Most Mexicans don't want to leave their country but are forced to in order to make a living.

Kybuckhunter I concur that if I was a Mexican I would probably be doing the same thing, how ever as an American I put America first and for the good of America we need to stop this.

Now I ask you a question, what do you suggest we do about the corrupt Mexican government? Overthrow it? Go to war with Mexico because its government is corrupt? Or do we simply open the borders because their government is corrupt?

If they were really serious about drying up the torrent of illegals they'd be enforcing a "no *******s" law with real teeth and jailing US employers and siezing their goods for hiring the parasites in the first place . Once the jobs disappear so do the illegals , they would have no reason to risk the trip north . There is absolutely nothing our goob can do to "force" the Mexican good to do anything , and no way to enforce it if they tried .

First of all....Kevin 1 you are a bigot and that's all I am going to say about that.

Now tazman I'm with you on putting America first. Something needs to be done to stop the influx of illegal immigrants as well as potential terrorist activity from crossing freely into this country. We must pressure the Mexican government into reform. We have the power to do this.

As long as it's their only hope then the illegals will do what they must to come here and try to make a better life for themselves. I wish as long as they are here, (and it seems we will never be able to stop it completely) that the US government would tax their wages just like they do ours. They should take out all the local, state, and federal taxes as well as social security but since they are not legal they could never draw any benefits from it. We shouldn't have to support them in any way until they could become legal citizens through the proper channels. At least this way we will collect billions of tax dollars for the US. I'm for some kind of guest worker program as long as we don't have to support them in any way. Our tax dollars should be spent on Americans.

Desperat people will do anything to survive. That doesn't make them bad people. I would and most of you would do anything you could to help your family.

Thanks for the observation Forrest , but I'm not a bigot , I'm a realist .
I lived out west for years , one of the neighborhoods I lived in was over 90% hispanic , and at one point I was the only gringo in a house of 20 people from eveywhere but here . Some of them even fed me one time for 3 weeks when I was laid off with no expectation of repayment , so I have nothing against Mexicans or any of our other hispanic neighbors . I don't care if they come here legally , just come in through the front door like you're supposed to , not the back door .

What I have a problem with is both the illegals(wet backs) , and the scum who hire them with no regard for our laws or the consequences of their actions . I also have a problem with starry eyed little liberals like you who think that this country can endlessly absorb the detritus of the world with no fallout . The population of this country will hit 300M this Fall , and there aren't enough jobs to go around here as it is . That horse**** about "they'll do the jobs we won't" is just that , horse**** . The welfare rolls are filled to bursting with honest folks who need work , and it's a great solution to the problem . Make them earn that Medicaid and free apartment . Charity begins at home , and the one way we can get the incredibly corrupt jerks who run the third world banana republics to improve the conditions for their own people as you yourself suggested is to make them stay home and fix their own problems instead of exporting them here .
