Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Why hasn't martial law been declared by the Iraqi goobermint ?

http://my.earthlink.net/article/top?guid=20060617/44937e40_3421_1334520060617-367319789

Somebody in that sheithole country knows who these so called "insurgents" are and is protecting them while they kill their own kind , why hasn't the Iraqi goob just declared martial law and really crack down on these a$$holes ? They don't have the same constitutional roadblocks that our troops and civillian police are hamstrung by , why aren't they identifying who these dirtbags and their sympathizers are and capping them in the public squares ? The prime suspects just about have to be any ignorant raghead that's a Sunni , so one Iraqi in three is automatically on that list . Why are bombs still going off in the mosques and marketplaces on a daily basis?

As much as I'm in favor of "capping" insurgents in the head, if they started doing that, it would make them look as bad as the idiot they just got rid of. If the general public is not behind this new government, it will fail. History has taught us that time and time again. That's why we are trying to help them form a democratic government in the first place.

Furthermore, identifying them is not as easy as you would like. If it were, there wouldn't be much of a problem would there?

Just curious, if they started doing that how would they be any better then Saddams regime was?And if we allowed them to start shooting suspects at random what are we doing over there in the first place?

I think the Iraqi govrnment said it would give insurgent amnisty if they turned in their GUNS...I was looking for that news article but unable to find it as of now,but I will....My understanding is that anyone has a gun is considered an insurgent...I believe they allready set up something like marshal law in baghdad..Curfew no guns allowed...They could be disarming all Iraqis of guns except the military and police... When I find the post again I will paiste it on here for you...

I wasn't suggesting that they go on a Saddamesque rampage and turn into nazis , but their new rules are far different from ours , why aren't they rounding up all the guns and bomb materials ? I know that finding folks who don't want to be found is difficult , especially when they're being abetted by others , but it justseems like they could be doing a better job of it . Our troops over there have very strict rules of conduct that the Iraqis themselves do not .
