Gimmie a break, Daniel. He didn't call the soldiers "a number." He called 2500 "a number." If you are implying that he doesn't care then you are a dern fool. The point is that libs and the media are making a big deal about what they think are benchmark numbers. They went on for weeks before and weeks after the number hit 1000. THAT is what is disgraceful. Harping on the number 2500 means nothing.
There are a lot of people out there (apparently you included) who are using the deaths of our soldiers politically. That is sick.
I know it doesn't matter what the number is to the loved one of a dead soldier but historically speaking this is an incredibly low number. We ought to be talking about how we were able to conquer a country of tens of millions of people and hold it and create a fledgling democracy all while fighting an insurgency for three years with 2500 lives. We lost more guys on the beaches of Normandy. More were killed in the first 15 minutes at Fredericksburg. Put it into perspective and the losses are unbelievable.

No I am not..That no. is not about jellybeans in a jar... The no. is soldiers who died..To say it's just a number with no meaning for what it stands for is ignorant to the family of that no. 2500....It's just a no. who cares????

OK, I'll take your word for it. But I think you misunderstood the point Snow was making.
Well I guess different people will interpret the press sec's comment differently. But I'll rely on past experiences of the political pandering related to the war, which is that the Bush administration has been far less disgraceful to our troops in Iraq than their Democrat critics.

my interpretation is that he was refering to the milestone as a number... not the lives of those who fell doing their duty. It was one excerpt taken out of context... what bout the following part "He said that Bush "feels very deeply the pain that the families feel." What i think is a disgrace is that the liberal media makes a big deal out of the number! what bout 2200? we didnt hear anything! what bout 2234? They seem to think that once we reach a certain number people will want them to come home. They use the soldiers lives for their own political gain. That my friends is dispicable.
