Well-off foreign couples are getting around laws banning sex selection in their home countries by coming to American soil, where it's legal, for medical procedures that can give them the boy, or girl, they want . This process, called preimplantation genetic diagnosis or PGD, is more widely used to screen for genetic diseases .
Should this practice be regulated ,as it is in other countries ,and why ?
Your thoughts ?

Isn't this called a sex change but before birth???To many things could go wrong with this I believe..Maybe this is why the increase in homosexuals...They might look like boys but are really girls in nature...Yes,this is totally wrong...
I don't know about regulating it, but I know the religious groups are going nuts over it. Being one myself, my own set of morals and ethics preclude me from considering it.
I'm not sure I'd care to force others to do the same though. Unless there is some major health risk involved that would affect the entire society, people's whose religions (or lack thereof) do not condemn this, should not be told that they cannot consider it.

No, this is called planting an embryo, either male or female, to choose the baby's sex. Sex change before birth? I wasn't aware that the English the story was written in was a secret code!
The Chinese do it because they have the type of government that our liberals and most of our media want. The government limits couples to ONE child. Period. Unless, of course, you are a Party VIP, or have connections with one. Chinese tradition values male children more than female, so if they are limited to one child, most want male.
Well, there is the fact that in some countries having a girl is shameful. People may want to avoid all the problems associated with that. If their culture is O.K. with condemning people for having girls, they should be O.K. with a doctor ensuring it's a boy.
If they just really want a boy or girl, it's kind of silly I think to go through the expense and trouble of traveling to another country to have it done. Personal convictions aside.
