I believe it was their tax dollars also they was spending...Whats the big deal on citizens waisting a billion dollars???The government does it every single day with our tax dollars...I don't care, atleast I know that some of our money was spent on the american people...Even if it wasn't for necessity of life..To complain about a penny that is a drop in the bucket compared to the waistefulness of our government is not worth the news report on it...If you wan't to complain about money.. Talk about the billions and billions and billions of dollars that slipt thru the cracks to rebuild Iraq...I don't care if they didn't live in louisianna either...I guess the government don't like it when the shoes are on the other feet...

I've told ya'll this from day one - my co-worker is a Katrins "victim" lost his house, evrything he owned in Slidell. FEMA and Red Cross and everyone else gave him monetary donations of $42,000 - and gave him everything else he needs, clothes, appliances, food, housing, pays his utilities ......... and those $1000 FEMA cards ? He treated himself to a Plasma tv.

He makesd $45 K a year, his wife double that ............. and he spends hours each day on the phone and filling out paperwork to get more.

Today he sent of forms to get a modified small business loan that Katrina "victims" can get to buy new homes with - $120,000 loan at 2.25 % intrest

Your right,We knew some of the money was goanna slip thru the cracks when the 200 billion was given to the state of katrina...The government knew it also...This was allready news thats been talked about before on mainstream...Why would they bring it up again???To piss people off twice??I guessthe first time around they didn't get the reaction they wanted....Now what are they goanna do about these people???Put the ones who can't afford to pay the money back in jail so more of our tax dollars takes care of them??? It will cost tax payers more for them being tried in court..Just let it go is the best bet for the tax payers....
