I have not purchased a lottery ticket in at least 20 years. The other day, I don't know what got into me but I purchased a $2 on impulse.

I won $50.

Should I keep playing or invest the $48 profit in pork belly futures contracts?

The lottery is such a sucker's game. I can't believe how many people I see buying tickets in quantity every day. Seems like their always in front of me in line too.

Around here we call the" lottery" a tax on being stupid.

The best way to get the true worth from it is to buy beer then you can piss away your winnings.

Or...

You could always just send the 48 bones on up to me - playing the lottery, giving your money to me... you'd realize the same gain either way - nothing, but at least I'd have 48 more greens in my pocket.

So.. if the Lottery Commission gives multiple millions of dollars to the schools, why is it that teachers are out of paper this late in the year? Or why do we parents have to buy the books?

I know that here in WV, the lottery has made it possible for any student that has aG.P.A. of "x" or better to be able to get a free ride as far as tuition in any of the state colleges...very good thing.
