Doesn't really matter to me. I like some of their songs but am not a big fan. I also still believe in the 1st amendment. However, it will be interesting to see how long the good sales continue beyond the initial flurry of interest. The last that I heard, the one single released off the album hasn't done too well.

Well, its already "Gold" status and it will probably go "Platinum." My point being, even if it does slack off, they've already made a more than respectible showing.
Respectable showing yes, but whether the sales continue to increase to the super star level that they were in a few years ago remains to be seen. As a frame of reference, their arch-rival Toby Keith's last several albums have sold from 2-4 million copies apiece.

But Toby Keith hasn't spent the last five years alienating his audience. I was hopeful that enough people had had enough of the Dixie Chicks that they'd no longer support them. And as Charlie P correctly predicted that didn't happen.
I think that you are missing my point. One could assume that there would be some support (especially considering all the hype) for the Chicks from Dems and hardcore fans that would result in a strong initial showing for their first album in years. My interest is whether these sales will be sustained to the point of recapturing their pre-controversy popularity and fanbase. That means they need to sell about another 1.5 albums, at least.
