Afghan Parliament Passes Motion to Prosecute U.S. Soldiers for Deadly Road Crash
KABUL, Afghanistan"”Afghanistan's parliament has approved a motion calling for the government to prosecute the U.S. soldiers responsible for a deadly road crash that sparked the worst riot in Kabul in years, officials said Wednesday.
Just some thing to think about, let us say that this was an incident here in the US on a public highway and the local civilian authorities felt this should be brought to trial?
Would it be okay with you if the military told the local authorities that they had already checked it out and it was bad brakes so don't worry about it?
In regards to them just following convoys around looking for an excuse to throw rocks, it would seem to me if there was a line of 5 cars that they hit it was probably a highly populated area.

Occupying powers are only tolerated only so long - no matter how good their intentions are. History has proven this over, and over, and over,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
This is a FACT that America will have to wake up to, sooner rather than later.
Partisan retoric can't alter this reality - no matter how often or eloquently it is uttered.
That is a true statement. But I wonder to what extent we are seen as "occupying" their country. There are only 15000 US troops there and there are spread all over. And the Afghan military is taking the brunt of the war with almost 9,000.

I don't think anyone seriously thinks we are NOT an occupying power. The nuances matter not, its a matter of national pride, just as it was/would be here in America - we didn't tolerate a "Partial"Â*British force after 1776 - the worm turned.
We mean well, and I agree with the Afghan operation, but the worm will turn if it hasn't begun to already - we just have to be open and honest enough to admit it and bring the troops home when that time comes. It may be here now.
OK.
I agree that we need to recognize when the "worm will turn." (never heard that term). I just hope that when that time comes, there are enough trained soldiers to keep the peace.
