Howdo you get permission to speak to the pilot, by DEMANDING???? Even before 9/11, does that sound right??
|
Essentially that's precisely what he did and in the process he told the flight attendant, "I'm fully aware of the seriousness of even saying the word 'hijack' aboard a commercial flight." He was taken seriously and was granted audience with the co-pilot.

I believe that a celeb, any celebrity, witnesses something like that, we would have heard about it within hours or days, instead of years.
|
Actually no, you most likely would not for a variety of reasons. For one, most celebritys would probably request that the airline and the FAA keep their report confidential.
Also the airline itself would most likely try to squelch the publicity that their airline was or may have been the target of would-be hijackers; not good public relations for the airline if you think about it for 2 seconds or so.
Lastly, the FAA would probably not release such information until they did whatever investigation they needed to do in order to confirm or deny the information and also to avoid tipping off that the potential hijackers were even under suspicion.
Note this in my first post:

Saw the "highlight" clips from the O' Reilly show over the weekend...
|
It was a highlight clip, one of many, of memorable interviews that O'Reilly conducted in the past. While I'm not certain how long ago, it was not an interview that he conducted just this past weekend, or as you say "years Later."
Finally, note that O'Reilly and the Fox Network, at the time of the interview, considered the report credible enough to include it on O'Reilly's program.
