Gonna enlist for Iran???

I just been wonderin, if we DO "get it on" with Iran and it gets really messy, they whip out a nuke, Israel gets involved and the rest of the chickenschitt world backs out on us. Is anyone in here gonna voluntarily enlist for service in Iran???

I sometimes wish I woulda been in the military during Desert Storm (I was only 19 in 1990) but we had that MORE than under control. The only thing keeping me from packin my bags after 9/11 was a business, my wife and 3 young kids. But assumin they would take me (will be 35 in July and can shoot their eyes out at 500yds) I have considered gettin some "revenge on Hadji" if it gets messy in Iran.

What are you guys gonna do?

So basically your whole premise is that it is okay for someone else to sacrifice family, friends, life, and limb for your ideals; but you cannot actually bring yourself to break away from your comfort zone to support those beliefs you so adamantly purport here?

Troops on their third tour would certainly welcome the help. Many of them have a business, a wife and 3 kids - doesn't stop them!

Being 52 and a veteran I won't be running down to join, my son fought in Operation Iraqi Freedom and did 6 months in Afghanistan after that. He did this leaving his son at home with his mom. I feel my family has done its part in this effort, my son got out this past December with 30% disability.

My hat is off to any person who enlist at this time, but please do me a favor and unless you are going to enlist don't say what you woulda coulda done.

You are young enough to join and as already mentioned there are a ton of folks over there right now with families, businesses, and other jobs, so if you are serious go join, otherwise please don't tell us what you would like to do.

If Iran "whips out a nuke" it won't be Iran with whom we'll be dealing. It will be their neighbors complaining about the smell of burnt flesh and the glare from the glassine sands of what was once Iran.

I still feel that if Iran does come even close to making a nuke Isreal will take care of them for the whole world, there will be some behind the scenes help form some other folks.

I was rejected by an Army doctor at Walter Reed in 1985 after two years of ROTC at UF. High blood pressure.

I grew up Army and was ready to make a career commitment. That was a kick in the nads.

Anyway, I'm 40 now and don't even know if they'd take me.

I have my doubts that we'd have the nerve to do it. But I'm guessing Isreal wouldn't hesitate.

They would likely have to be desperate enough to significantly lower the age requirements to take most of the crew here. I found out after 9/11 that none of the services are interested in guys in their late 30s, unless they are recalling reservists.
