The Repubs didn't start this whole immigration thing as its been going on every since I can remember. However with control of the whole government, they had a chance and IMO a responsibility to turn this thing around for good. However they lacked the guts to do so and in the end, amnesty will be given to all the illegals now here plus all the ones that can sneak in in the near future.
Bickering about everything keeps both parties from ever getting anything done for the people. However with all the marbles in their corner, they Republicans committed sucicide on this issue. They will pay for it in the next election. Sorry thing is, I have no hope that the other guys will do one bit better.[:@]
i still hold out hope. i have met intelligent, dedicated elected officials on both sides of the aisle. they do exist. it's up to the voters to make intelligent choices when they cast a ballot.
All politicians dissapoint me, I know that is painting with a broad brush, there are a few good ones, but I don't have a brush with a single bristle!
I agree. It seems to me that politics is so controlled by "party politics" we're lucky when new legislation doesn't hurt us more than help.
As an aside, I changed my voter registration last week from "Republican" to "Unaffiliated." Course, I'll still have to vote for the candidate that most closely represents my views but I can't say that I belong in this party any more. Like the old Democrats turned Republican in the 60s/70s/80s say, "My party left me, I didn't leave it."
I think the republicans need breathing room to make things happen and not have things tied when they go to make changes...
we experience the same things here, the political parties wrangle each other at the expense of the people and perpetuate issues longer that necessary or the the detriment of the best interest of our citizens....it's nuts...and we let them get away with it by not forcing proper reforms...uuhhhhhhh...besides turkey hunting is on and fishing season kicked off....government what ?...
