smoke another one boys ! you gotta die somtime, you know ?
My buddy's motto for years. Smoked like a chimney, smoked while he played basketball with us. 5'11", 180 pounds, atheletic lefty. Got to die sometime he said, if smoking don't kill you, something else will he said.
18 months after having been diagnosed with tongue cancer, lymph nodes in his neck cancer, lung cancer etc and smoking through it all - its finally dawned on him - he's killed himself with that stupid philosophy on life. He's 39 years old, 4 year old little girl, wife of 4 years and he's finally stopped smoking in the last few weeks. Doctors told him he has a 10% chance of making it. He weights 136 pounds, and his neck is fried crisp from radiation. His teeth are rotten because of it. He has not strength. His head is tilted because of the neck surgery and damages done from removing all the cancer. He can't fish anymore, play ball - can't even play with his little girl. His vocal cords too are really damaged ....... his hoarse voice fades to a whisper if he can even talk at all.
1 more neck operation, risky but radical. lung operation, risky too and radical.
So smoke another one boys, all you weak minded people who smoke cigarettes and don't think it'll matter and hold to that stupid phiosophy

no problem Aught Six, and I'll probably continue to do so. watching someone dies is a tough thing to do man, ecspecially since its basically drawn out suicide in his case. He's killed hisself ........ and talkeing to him you can see it in his eyes the realization that hey, smoking wasn't important after all, LIFE is important, time with his kid is important, a day fishing is important ......... smoking a cigarrette ? not important, and for that addiction he has pretty much a death sentence for it.
and yeah, it has affected a LOT of people besides him

One of the everlasting stories of human history. I know you mean well, but I wouldn't expect anything to change.

if you were watching this man die you might think different. people sometimes need visuals to remind themselves that the world doesnt' revolve around them, and their personal pleasures. theres a vast more to it than that

BS. Man has watched his fellow man die terrible deaths for millennia, and yet nothing changes. Deep in the heart of every person is a drive for self-pleasure, and no rational argument can do away with it absolutely. Humans have been killing themselves with sex, drugs, and the like longer than history itself.
