Default it was her fault, her parents fault ...... not the bear's

Quote:
ORWELL, Ohio (AP) -- A 500-pound bear escaped from an animal breeder Monday, entered a neighboring home and attacked a woman, a state wildlife officer said.
Quote:

The victim was expected to survive, and the bear was lured out of the house and shot to death by the breeder, said Reno Reda of the state Department of Natural Resources wildlife division.
The owner of Grand River Fur Exchange, Mark Gutman, was attempting to enter the bear's cage to clean it when the animal escaped, Reda said.

The bear walked into a neighbor's garage, Reda said. A 15-year-old girl saw the animal and fled into the house, but the bear pushed the door open behind her and followed her inside, Reda said. (Watch where the bear left a bloodstained wall -- 2:00)

The girl's mother, Rachel Supplee, 36, was attacked in a nearby room, Reda said.

She was in satisfactory condition Monday night at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Reda said, but details on the injuries to several parts of her body weren't available.

The bear was shot about 20 minutes after it escaped. Gutman immediately called authorities, as required, when the bear broke loose, Reda said.

The bear was about 9 years old and raised in captivity, making it unafraid of people, Reda said.

Gutman is licensed for commercial game propagation, which allows him to breed animals and sell the offspring, Reda said. His business is in Hartsgrove Township, 50 miles east of Cleveland.

No charges had been filed and the Ashtabula County Sheriff's Office was reviewing the matter, Reda said. The sheriff's office didn't return a phone message Monday night.

According to the thought process of bawanajim and others this girl was obviously at fault. What was she doing outside her house without pepper spray or a hangun ? And her parents ? Gawd they should have expected a stray bear to be attacking, how could they have not known ? Certainly not the breeders fault, if that girl hadn't been there, there would have been no problems, no following inside the house, the parent wouldn't have been attacked ........ they could have had a bear proof fence around their house, you know ? I can't believe it ....... like bawanajim said, these people had a lot of means at their disposal to insure their safety and they failed miserably. There should be no laws restricing bear raising, no, HELL NO ! Everyone should be able to breed bears - its the stupid people getting in the way of the bears thats the problem huh bawanajim ! ??

Come on, now, be reasonable. We only need to ban bears which have been bred to have large jaws andaggressive instinctual tendencies.

That is...all of them.

right on bawanajim ! I think we should all be allowed to own polar bears and let them free range from yard to yard. Hey, you don't like my polar bear GO TO HELL ! MOVE ! Arm yourself - you can protect yourself from my polar bear by staying inside or moving somewhere that doesnt HAVE THEM !

Geeeeeeesh. Me owning a man eating polar bear is NOT the problem. Everyone living around me obviously is the issue and their incapablility to protect themselves from it.

I can't believe they can't see oru posint of vies here bawanajim - can you ?
