Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Pentagon eyes ways to use military for border security

In back-to-back moves this week, the Pentagon began exploring ways to lend support at the Southern border, while the House on Thursday voted to allow the Homeland Security Department in limited cases to use soldiers in that region.

The officials, who requested anonymity because the matter has not been made public, said there were no details yet on a defense strategy.

Bring them back from Iraq and put them along the whole US border to protect us for a change.

Its a good sign that at least they are recognizing that it is a problem big enough that the military needs to be involved.

Isn't this what the "National Guard" is supposed to do in time of crisis ?

Vincente Fox is concerned by the possibility that the National Guard may be deployed along the southern border , isn't guarding the border part of what the NG does in emergencies ? Isn't being invaded by foreign nationals an emergency ? His alleged concern is that we may end up "militarizing" the border , can you name another country besides Canada that doesn't militarize theirs ?

The president made clear that the United States considers Mexico a friend and that what is being considered is not militarization of the border, but support of border patrol capabilities on a temporary basis by National Guard personnel," White House spokeswoman Maria Tamburri said, describing a telephone conversation between Bush and his Mexican counterpart.

It's not called militarization????? You can call it what you want,But it is still militarization...And this is our country..If mexico isn't doing anything to help keep their own people in their country what does he want us to do???When it comes to our own country he has no say over anything we do here on our own soil with our troops......
