Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default China, Cuba reported in Gulf oil partnership

At a time of rising soaring gasoline prices caused partly by a lack of supply, legislators are fuming that Cuba is opening up its continental shelf for oil and gas exploration while most of the U.S. continental shelf outside the Gulf of Mexico, which extends 200 miles from shore, has been off limits for drilling since the early 1980s, the New York Times reported

Big surprise there , two commie buddies colaborating on enriching themselves while we let the damned tree huggers hold us back . Who'd a thunk it ?

Wouldn't matter if we opened our continental shelf to our oil companies to exploit , they'd just sell the oil on the open market for the going rate . Screw your own as long as you make the maximum dollar for the stockholders . If they do open the shelf this country should get first dibs on the oil , and at a discount since they don't have to tanker it halfway around the friggin' planet . [:@]
