Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Ive had a change of heart on the illegal immigrant issue

[/align]I think the protests of May 1st opened my eyes. My gripe over the illegal issue is not so much that poor people are trying tomake a better life for themselves. Im upset about the fact that we have a tax base that is not getting utilized, as well as the illegal practice of using workers and paying them under minimum wage. I feel this is keeping the wages for jobs "that Americans wont do" below minimum, not encouraging any one legal to do said jobs. How about this. We agree to give amnesty to illegal that are here. In doing so, they must register to become American, and must divulge who they have been working for. The business then need to be investigated, and if they are using undocumented workers, put them buisness owner in jail. If the business was using these workers, unknowing that they were illegal due to false documents, then put the illegal immigrantin jail. We can then focuse on closing the boarder.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!

We must secure the border first. Every day that we debate whether or not to document the undocumented, more slip across the border. We're getting to the peak season this time of year....

To address your main point, I would reject any such measure for illegals. They need to get out,and then get to the back of the line. It doesn't take long to issue work visas. I'm not calling for the permanent removal of illegals, but they need to understand that the rule of law is one thing that keeps our country superior to theirs.

Easy Aught, take this post more as tongue and cheek.

I was trying to set up a win win situation. Some body will get in trouble in my scenario and have to pay for their illegal actions. We can close the boarder first. That would make more since.

close the border, round up the illegals ( not the living in and settled andhave a new family and consider themselves Amercian speaking english types ), tag their ears or brand them, put em on a bus with a note addressed to the Mexican president that says " We found your missingpeople, kindly return to their homes "....oh ya and a bill for the gasoline used to do so....LOL

I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that some compromise must be made to get anything done on this issue. But, still, I'm the kind of guy who rants and raves until the final legislation is passed.

Then I'll rant some more....

I have no problems with illegals becoming legal. Slap in the face to all those doing it the RIGHT way though isn't it ?

Also, leave the frickin spanish at home. This is AMERICAN speaking ENGLISH and I am sick and tired of picking English as option 2 at ATM's and menu recording [:@]
