Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Bend over and brace yourself, Demos just stuck it too you

Im not a member of any party, and have no love loss for Bush, but the Demos just bent us over. Bush and the Rep. were trying to pass a bill to create more oil refineries, but the Demos shot it down. More oil refineries would produce more gas, inturn lowering the price per gallon of gas. It will now be impossible to increase our gas flow. I don't have time right now to find a link, I just heard it on the news. The first thing to come to my mind when I heard this news was, "what a crappy thing to do just to insure that the Rep. look bad in Nov.. Screw America so that the GOP will continue to get blamed for high gas prices.[:@]

It kinda makes it look like "We the people" got forgotten in the midst of the Rep-Dem Beltway Ballet.

It's not exactly news that our refining capability hasn't increased as fast as our increase in demand.I do wonder if the refining capability we do havecan sustain our needs until morerefineries can be built.

Bend over and get ready? Hell they have had us bent over the table and been pouring it too us since FDR, why should todays Damocraps be any different. I agree with many that I am not really happy with EITHER SIDE of the isle in D.C. with regards too this whole oil fiasco. But the very notion that the Dems think they are helping anything with this latest vote just shows their arrogance and contempt for a healthy America.

Remember, the stronger and more independent America becomes the more the Dams become useless.
RA

ps
Why is it even a federal issue with regards too building refineries? Shouldn't that be a states rights issue? I can see a vote at the state level but NOT something that should have any importance in D.C.

Seems like everything centers around politics and power. Both sides are full of self-serving power hungry fools. They place that above all else. How about term limits (2 max) then throw the bums out!

One of the problems is that we don't know what really happened, it is basically impossible to have a single question vote these days. Ammendmants are tacked onto everything then if you vote down a REALLY bad bill and it has a good ammendmant, you can be spun as voting down something good.

Not saying that's what happened here, cause I don't know, but things like this are standard in DC today.

I would like to see it made impossible to have ammendmants to any bill. You can reword it, but not add things to it and the rewording cannot change the issue.

Then when our reps vote, we can TRUELY see what they are voting on.

It's fairly standards way to get a bill sunk, just attach a really bad ammendmant.

A few extra oil refineries wouldn't have helped us at the pump very much. The existing refineries throughout the world are only operating at 88% capacity right now. Why build more?

Giving the oil hegemon a few extra refineries only puts a few more dollars in their pockets. We all know their track record with passing savings on to the American Consumer. Trickle down what?? For further explanation, See Exxon profits 2002-present compare to American Gasoline prices 2002-present.

Personally, I'd rather pay the extra 2 cents and enjoy the fact that Exxon is only making 10 Billion instead of 15.

Good move by the Democrats, IMO.

Man, I can't wait to vote again. Just pulling that Democrat handle... makes me smile like a butcher's dog.
