Yes I mentioned it three days ago in the thread "Screw you legal Americans". If they want to impress me try singing it in the language of the coutry you are in at that time. I think it is a disgrace.
It is like going to a party uninvited and insisting that they change the type of music that they are playing. So does that mean France is going to have to start singing their national anthem in English? Right. We are the only country that has to go through crap like this.
My grandfather was an immigrant from Italy and is on the rolls at Ellis Island. Do you think that he insisted that we change the language that we sing the national anthem. Don't think so instead he enlisted and fought in WWI and was proud to be called an American!
I find it absolutely disgraceful! It's one thing to offer a translation to a foreigner, for the sake of comprehension. But to deliberately alter it to make some kind of politcal statement? I'll tell you one thing--if the illegals think this will help their cause, they're in for a shock.
If they want to hear our national anthem with different lyrics, how about this:
[blockquote] O say, can you see, by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hailed, millions of illegals screaming? Whose law-breaking masses, through the perilous fight, O'er the border we watched, were so frantically fleeing!
[/blockquote]
British music producer Adam Kidron says that when he came up with the idea of a Spanish-language version of the U.S. national anthem, he saw it as an ode to the millions of immigrants seeking a better life.
The national anthem should be sung in English "” not Spanish "” President Bush declared Friday.
The national anthem was written in English , has always been sung in English , and is the only way that the VAST MAJORITY OF CITIZENS understand it .
Leave it to another foreigner to trash it so that ignorant *******s can sing it , which they won't anyway because they don't want to follow the same rules as the rest of the immigrants who have ever come here . BTW , don't think that you can punk us into bending our laws just for you , we don't do it for anyone else and we won't do it for you just because you're willing to pick lettuce for half price . It's also a mid term election year and no pol will cut his own throat for you . [:@]
