RE: US Citizen Jailed for protesting Chinese persecution.
So the heckler was a US Citizen....interesting decision to jail her...I believe it may be just to help Hu save face andto foster a better climate for talks...they'll let her go after Hu's gone...?
RE: US Citizen Jailed for protesting Chinese persecution.
Hu stated his country takes human rights seriously, well maybe the limiting of them.
From what I've read they really hammer on the Falun gong. This what the woman was protesting.
I also saw on TV the other night video of the Chinese pulling people from their homes and then bulldozing them. Wait maybe they do have something in common with us,cough eminant domain cough cough.
We keep sanctions on Cuba but trade with China. HELLO

They are hammering a lot of people. Not only that they are harvesting organs the last timeI heard. Bush and the American government just keeps sinking lower and lower. To satisfy business interests. It is going to bite us and themin the ass big time.
RE: US Citizen Jailed for protesting Chinese persecution.
Its pretty pathetic if you ask me. There are supposedly a few hundred million members of the Falon Gong spiritual movement in China, and they are the most persecuted religeous group in history by the red Chinese. The woman standing up would be no different than a Jew protesting Hitler if he had come to America. Its pretty sad when a foreigner who would spit in every American's face if he could gets more respect than a citizen here. A respectable politician in my eyes would tell the Chinese bastard to go pound sand up his ass, we aren't importing anymore of your crap.

RE: US Citizen Jailed for protesting Chinese persecution.
Come on, guys, she's being detained by the Secret Service, not prosecuted. She'll be out by the end of the weekend, if not today.
Did you hear her screaming? She sounded like a lunatic. I'm sorry, if a reporter of all people starts ranting and raving within a secure area of the White House property, of course the SS is going to take action. Normal people don't do behave like that around the president and his guests.
If I stand on the street corner outside my office and do the same, the police will also be on me rather quickly. A disorderly conduct charge wouldn't be too much to expect. I'm all for free speech, but I'm also for dignity and maturity.
Now, when it comes to her 'protest', she is valid on all points. Hu Jintao is a communist thug in a business suit, nothing more. He is indeed a criminal as the reporter said, and I sincerely do hope that his days are numbered. Members of the Falun Gong movement (which is more philosophy than religion) arebeing persecuted terribly, and as others have mentioned, imprisoned members are being used a organ farms for the Chinese elite, who pays tens of thousands per organ.
I'm very disappointed that Bush has been so diplomatic to Hu, but, as much as I don't want to admit it, I believe he feels there is little choice but to acknowledge China as a growing superpower. I want to see Beijing crushed, but I'm not the one calling the shots in Washington.

If I were president and had my way, I'd allow as many Chinese immigrants in as possible, armed with rotten vegetables to throw at Hu. Then again there is a reason why I'm not the president and never will be
