I wouldn't trust the Chinese just yet. Why would a country want to trade with them anyway, their products are the worst in the world. That's why they are stealing industrial and high tech secrets, and of course spying.

Last June they purchased a stake inCanada's Northern Lights oil sands project. Only around 84 Million USD but a stake all the same. They are looking to the future and only for themselves.
North America needs to stick together and look after each other. Well Mexico is another story but...you get the idea...
China is the contemporary equivalent of the USSR. There are our enemy militarily, diplomatically, and economically. They can never be trusted so long as the communists are in control, and we should treat them as such.
I'm afraid we need to accept the fact that the Cold War never really ended, and we will have a lot of struggles against China for years to come.
The Chinese are notorious for industrial espionage , just as the ***anese were in the post war years following WW2 . China is now where ***an was then , and their desire to accelerate their industrial boom is impacting the entire world in ways they never could do militarily . The ironic part is that our own corporations selling us down the river by locating more and more manufacturing there are making it easier for them to plunder our innovations . I have a small hope that their increasing forays into capitalism will continue and eventually push them into understanding that communism is inevitably a flawed system for anyone other than ants and bees .
