WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Bush administration unveiled Thursday what it said is a new strategy aimed at companies employing illegal immigrants, illustrating it with a crackdown on the German-based firm IFCO Systems.[/b]
RE: Companies using illegal workers to be targeted
stop every company from hiring them .......... and still there will be 12 million illegals mooching off the Liberally induced system of taking care of people who don't earn it.[:@]

I hear ya Mind, maybe then they will get in line to apply for legal status or welfare then they get escorted to a private "discussion"....then behind closed doors, get handcuffed and escort to a special van...a sign on the van could read "Mexico or Bust "....

I saw that on the news this morning. What I found real funny was, they showed some illegals on the news trying to get a protest going. They said this was an invasion of their right. RIGHTS?????????????????? What freaken rights. The right to get booted back to Mexico. Or do as Mexico does, jail or kill the illegals.[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]

I've been thinking about these alledged 'rights' that every foreign criminal claims to have, and I think it stems from the global distribution of our culture. Everywhere you go in the world, you see a symbol of America.
The problem is that people around the world see Americanism and somehowstart believing that they shouldhave the same rights as American citizens (which they really do) without doing the work to democratize and clean up their own countries (which they won't).
I'm all for equal rights, but history shows that there is a lot of blood, sweat, and tears that secured them in the first place. They want to talk about rights, fine--let's start with those of legal Americans, both native-born and naturalized.
RE: Companies using illegal workers to be targeted
At a time when America desperately needs the voices of educated people as a counterweight to the disinformation that emanates from the Bush administration and its supporters, economists have discredited themselves. This is especially true for "free market economists" who foolishly assumed that international labor arbitrage was an example of free trade that was benefitting Americans. Where is the benefit when employment in US export industries and import-competitive industries is shrinking? After decades of struggle to regain credibility, free market economics is on the verge of another wipeout.
No sane economist can possibly maintain that a deplorable record of merely 1,054,000 net new private sector jobs over five years is an indication of a healthy economy. The total number of private sector jobs created over the five year period is 500,000 jobs less than one year"s legal and illegal immigration! (In a December 2005 Center for Immigration Studies report based on the Census Bureau"s March 2005 Current Population Survey, Steven Camarota writes that there were 7.9 million new immigrants between January 2000 and March 2005.) http://baltimorechronicle.com/2006/021306Roberts.shtml
Must read!! Who said the economy was booming are only kidding their selves.
RE: Companies using illegal workers to be targeted
I've thought for years that in the foreseeable future the only Americans who'll have a job are those who are self employed , and our much vaunted system makes it rather difficult to become that way when it should be encouraging entrepenurial endevor . If the businesses that hire illegals can no longer hire them the *******swon't have a reason to come here anymore , but enforcement isn't gonna happen overnight and there will always be some who cheat and use shady methods to keep their low cost labor. Unless rigid enforcement and high penalties are mandated this will end up as nothing but another smokescreen by the pols .
