RALEIGH, N.C. -- House Democrats say Speaker Jim Black will remain their leader despite his legal troubles.
The Democrats met behind closed doors Tuesday night to prepare for the upcoming legislative session.
Lawmakers said members spoke frankly about Black, a four-term speaker who is being considered by Wake County prosecutors for potential criminal charges related to his handling of campaign checks written by his fellow optometrists.

A few months ago, weren't the Dems throwing a fit about campaign finance? Now one of their own is in legal trouble for the same thing, but we hear nothing about it? What's up with that? They wanted to hang the Rep., but it's ok with one of theirs?
Double standard. Only hang people when it's convenient.
