Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default NCLB loses yet another brownie point

http://my.earthlink.net/article/nat?guid=20060418/44446440_3ca6_1552620060418927940416

I found the last four paragraphs particularly telling . NCLB is exactly the kind of thinking that is presently dumbing down our future to placate some loony liberal fantasy of total equality for all .

Great ... we'll all be socialists andstupid .

I used to work as an EMT in Hartford and I mainly worked in the area of this school. The "Wedged in a poor, gritty immigrant neighborhood" is not quite true. The area isn't the nicest, but they also have no "projects" in the area anymore. There are other parts of the city that are alot less desierable than the part that this school is in. The last one was destroyed about two years ago. Also many of the houses that I went into had nicer TV and sterio setups than I had. Some of the people drove a nicer car than I did, but they were still sucking money from the state insurance.

What a joke. Make everyone else stupid because a few kids are stupid. It's the liberal fantasy "we're all equal and everyone's happy... let's all hold hands and sing songs". Bullcrap. We're not all equal- we'll never all be equal. Some people are smarter than others, and shouldn't be brought down because of the dumber ones. Some are more gifted in other areas. That's just the way it is. Public education sucks, my kids will never never never go to a public school. Now that the race card is being played (again) it's only going to get worse. I think we've only seen the tip of the iceberg on this one.

The management of education is the right of states, not the feds. More big government as usual.

You are right it is bullcrap, but it was created by Bush. He was trying to get it going in Texas long before he became president. He wanted to go so far as to base Teachers salary on test scores. Now wouldnt that be dandy. Could you imagine what that would do to our already screwed up inner city schools. I will agree with you about the educational field being run by liberals. NEA is a bunch of liberals. I can only imagine they provided Bush with his information.

Very true, and that is what has gotten many states P.O.ed. Fed. mandating certain programs and requirements with no help on funding or even an inkling as to where the money will come from for said progarms.

Perhaps NCLB is really a plot to lower the intelect of the average American to the point that all the illegals storming our borders won't feel inferior anymore , don't they deserve to have good self esteem too ?
