I just watched an epsiode of The Fifth Estate, the show presentedlinks between the Bushes and Bin Ladens of Saudi Arabia...apparently that go way back in years...
Has anyone else seen this?
It left me with an uneasy feeling in my gut.
It's all conspiracy theory and I found a web site for it...
It rates right up there with GW's grandfather being a "Nazi". Big difference between supporting socialism and being a 'Nazi'

Roger that Moonrunner, I had originally posted a link to the story but deleted it because it didn't really serve any purpose other than maybe fuel some rhetoric here...and I didn't want that to happen.
I also didn't know that the story had been aired on TV previously and would be considered old news by some here. It was new to me.
The story did have a shock factor on me but maybe that's the whole idea behind conspiracy theories. I saw the show only in part.
I just can't help but wonder why the issues in Iraq, and Afghanistan, (that good soldiers face everyday),seem to beput aside by the bickering and bashing going on politically.
All we hear seem to hear about is that abomb went off here or there. Now that's depressing to hear everyday and even more depressing that it is actually happening all too often. Can those bombings of innocents be stopped? I would hope so.
There must be dozens upon dozensof success stories, from soldiers and civilians alike. We need to hear good things happening, I know I do.
Lanse- my grandfather is an oil man. Is he not an American success story? Does he have ties to the Bin Ladens?
1 - Yes. Success isn't determined by what someone else thinks of you.
2 - No. Just because you are in business w/ the same product, that doesn't mean you know or deal with each other.

I think that these sort of off the wall "stories" are thought up by those who for whatever reason really hate someone, in this case Pres. Geo. W. B., then set out to find the "proof". Those who are so inclined will believe it, no matter how far fetched and against common sense and reality. If you believe this whacky story you're just letting yourselves be manipulated by the rabid Bush-haters, whether you know it or not.

The Bin Laden family is a wealthy family that was well connected with the royalty of Saudi Arabia. They (the Bin Ladens) had a large construction company that recieved many Saudi govt contracts to build many projects (I believe they have even done work on Mecca). But Osama Bin Laden revolted and essentially disowned his own family because of his radical Islamic beliefs, he felt they (his family) had grown to mainstream and "liberal/westernized".They (the Bin Ladens) essentially disowned and cast him out of their business andfamily"goings ons"during the 70s, directly because of his radical views and involvement withterrorists andradical fundamentalist groups. Itwas reported that Osama was left a trust worth appx $300million in the 70s, but that he essentially spent that wealth on various muslim endeavors ranging from his mujahedeen(sp) aid during the Afghan/Russian war and funding many of the worlds terrorists activities and training camps.
As for GW being connected too Osama that is crazy and rhetoric spread by liberals grasping for straws. Just because two families have done legitimate business in the past doesn't automatically mean that future generations of those families know each other and are "buddy buddy" with one another.
This "Bin Laden/Bush" propoganda has been peddled by the left for several years now!
