Yeah, I know what you mean. It's great to bum around the house for a couple weeks, but it gets old pretty quickly.
Regarding the higher salaries, that could be one potentially harmful result of full employment (to the economy as a whole). If the unemployment rate drops much lower (say, to 3%), we could face wage inflationbecause employers have more open position than there are bodies to fill them.
When that happens, competition among businesses for new hires starts to jump. That seems good for the employee in question, butif that worker is being paid more than he/she is worth, the consumer will end up paying for it down the line with higher prices.
Not to mention that otherbusiness' growth is stifled because companies can't expand as they would've liked to.
To make it short, low unemployment (i.e. 4.7%) is a good thing, but it can go too low.
PRECISELY!!!!!!!!!!!!! But at the same time there are a lot of lazy a**es that won't work, and we're paying for them to get free handouts.

On a side not, a lot of pro-illegal immigration advocates are quick to say that America needs illegals to do the jobs Americans won't. They argue that illegals are the reason that unemployment is so low.
However, when you look at the numbers (even the conservative estimates), we realize that only about 7 out of 11 million illegals are working. The other four million are wives and children who are a drain on our system, thanks to the welfare state we've become since LBJ.
Well I agree the women and children may be a drain on the system but maybe the real drain is the employers who pays no benefits, can pay less than min wages and avoid employer taxes. (workers compensation etc)And do these employers pass on the savings made on the backs of the illegals, I doubt it.
As far as paying school taxes, I assume these illegals are payin rent which includes the cost of property taxes so they are in effect paying some tax.

Goes back to whole welfare state thing. If the government didn't feel a need to wipe the @#$%^ of those who can't take care of themselves, our emergency rooms wouldn't be flooded with unskilled people demanding free services because their big, bad boss won't pay for them. In the real world people have to bust their @#$ to get ahead, not wait in line for a handout. And we wonder why thelatest generation of Americans feels so entitled to have whateverit wants or "needs"....
Yeah, illegals are paying property taxes, which go intoschools that put American citizens' education on hold. After all,the administrations have to budget enough money to hire an ESL staff and all of the course materials necessary to educate the people that Mexico and other countries toss over the border like human trash. The longer we clean up after the third world, the closer we get to it ourselves.
