Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Greenpeace: McDonald's Fueling Rainforest Destruction

Is there not enough inexpensive soy bean to feed chickenshere in North America? What about Europe?

Anyone ever hear of illegal soy bean?

"Illegal soy bean" was a punk rock group from the 80s. I remember seeing them open for the "Asparagus nightmare".

ROFLMAO @ Burnie.....

I wonder if McDonald's stopped buying soy bean, would the whole destructive process, already in place there, actually come to a grinding halt?...not with China buying up soy bean...or the EU?

How does one actually get satellite time to check out soy bean farming in the amazon? Do they hire Soy Bean Mercenaries for ground patrols??

Lookslike a problem beyond just McDonald's to me...gotta love the Headline though...

Maybe they should Ban Chicken McNuggets???.......LOL

I personally dont care for Mickey D's because of their practice of buying foreign beef over domestic. Not sure if they still do this, but the old practice still gives me a bad taste in my mouth.

I don't even know how mcdonalds can call that stuff beef... It doesn't taste, look or even have the texture of real hamburger.

yes, McDonalds and almost all fast food places bring in beef from over seas these days. They claim that the problem is that there isn't enough animals here for them to bid on... That is because 1) The Dairy herd is real low so there are not nearly as many cull dairy cows as their used to be and 2) The beef herd is also low right now so they have the same problem. Heaven forbid they actually use beef from a younger animal... Of course, than that 1/4 pound of beef would cost them .40 insteand of .25 or something like that. I Personally feel that the burgers tehy have at Mcdonals taste more like soyburgers than hamburgers.

Yes I saw something about that, was it Patrick Moore?

He says he broke with the environmental movement after it decescended into what he calls incessant fearmongering. He regards himself as a moderate environmentalist, someone who is willing to weight the evidence and doesn't regard companies that operate for profit as automatically evil.

I think he supports Genetically modified foodsin a balance to hold more benefits than the so called contrived risks.

What get's me, is Greenpeace does nothing to help to arrive at a solution to anything they supposedly uncover, just a bunch of finger pointers?

Why don't they say " let's propose this solution " to the Amazon rain forest farmer and help get rid of the corruption there? Instead of blaming McDonald's...??
