Default How Healthy do you eat ?

What is in your refrigerator / freezer ?
Mine has non-homogenized milk, cream line from an organic farm. We have OJ all the time in the fridge and apple juice / grape juice (no sugar added). We use real butter. Farm fresh eggs from our own chickens. We get organic beef from her Dad. Couple that with wild game and we rarely buy meat and when we do, pork tenderloin and boneless skinless chicken breast.
My kids love to snack, all kids do. Mine snack on carrots, strawberries, frozen blueberries, watermellon, cantelope ......... fresh fruits. We never have cokes or pepsi's in the house, never. Candy is rare.
We have water filters on the frig and faucet - and a very nice reverse RO unit that we're getting hooked up in the coming weeks.
For breakfast what do you eat? Cereal is a big thing for my kinds ....... but what kind will probably surprise you. They don't eat 25g Cocoa Puffs of Lucky Charms. They want Bran Flakes - like 4 g of sugars. Whole Wheat Life cereal is like 6g of sugar and they like it but Bran Flakes is their staple.
My wife and little girl LOVE their morning tea. My wife drinks a pot a day - organic loose leaf teas she brews herself. I drink espresso & milk, not a tea person really.
Just curious how my family eats compares to others

Ifferd - the human body is meant to consume natural products. I NEVER bought the bull about butter and bacon and sauage being bad for you, I never bought into the crap about eating steak being bad or drinking whole milk being bad. Those were your "scientific" fads that were crap from the get go.

I don't want to put homogenized milk in my body anymore. You can have the beet sugars and artifical sweeteners. All the hormone induced meats ya'll can have them too. Foods filled with unntaural, artifical ingredients ya'll can have them. Drink your tap water, don't worry about all the cholrine and flourine etc that they put in it, not to mention all the "other" things in it.

I giggle to myself when I see a "study" saying XX food has been determined that maybe it might bad for you and people start going balisitc over it.

Like the low-carb craze - that came and went in a blaze of glory, didn't it ?

"For breakfast I eat 5 strips of beacon, For lunch I eat a whole pound of beacon, and I drink my supper"

Any one know where that line came from? One of the best movies ever.

I buy milk from the grocery stores, usually freshly stocked, 1 % filtered, tastes like 2 %...why ?

My family eats balanced meals most of the time. But we don't spaz about sugars and fats and whatever else might be in the list of the ingredients. Common sense, for the most part, dictates what is good for you and what isn't.

I eat balanced meals and usually start off with breakfast of Raisin Bran Total, juice and an english muffin. Lunch is usually a sandwich and 2% milk and supper is what ever my wife cooks with some liquid refreshments for happy hour (s).

Mountain Springs I think is the name, they delvier in 1/2 gallon glass jars to a local Kroger. I buy the cream line - its got anywhere from 1/2" to 2" of thick cream at the top - non-homogenized milke. I get 100% farm fresh right out of the teats from my father in law whenever I can.

I don't like homogenized milk, and especially 2%, 1% and skim - nasty stuff
