WASHINGTON - Vice President Dick Cheney's former top aide told prosecutors President Bush authorized the leak of sensitive intelligence information about Iraq, according to court papers filed by prosecutors in the CIA leak case. Before his indictment, I. Lewis Libby testified to the grand jury investigating the CIA leak that Cheney told him to pass on information and that it was Bush who authorized the disclosure, the court papers say. According to the documents, the authorization led to the July 8, 2003, conversation between Libby and New York Times reporter Judith Miller.

I agree to a point, but leaking classified information was a crime the last time I checked.

read the articles more closely then, they said no crimes were broken , it just looks bad (according to what I read anyway)

the info is questionable on how it was leaked, and whether it was classified or sensitive too

What I understand is that any info leaked was within the power of the president to de classify.. Only time will tell. I don't understand it all nor am I going to scream the sky is falling until I do.

He certianly did when he said "when I find out who the leaker is, they will be FIRED!" If he knew all along that HE was the leaker.

It cannot be illegal though because the president has the right to declassify just about anything he wants.

A CIA agents name was revealed....You don't declassify the name of CIA agents................His mission in africa is over....No more intelligence comming from him .....I believe itis stilla crime revealing a CIA agents name.............
