Default Mmmmmm Buffalo Burgers...

According to the NBA, bison meat has less fat than turkey, beef and chicken. It's loaded with Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA), which studies say may actually help reduce body fat while preserving muscle tissue. The NBA also says that eating a 5 oz. serving of buffalo 4-5 times a week can help the health conscious reduce cholesterol levels.

I think I just might switch to this Diet meat...LOL

Anyone prefer Buffalo?

Buffalo and "beefalo" (cow, buffalo hybrid) is VERY good meat. I recently had a "buffalo burger", I want to say it was at Tuesdays restaurant. It was GREAT and I normally don't enjoy burgers that much, I just eat them more out of convenience. As long as the herd from which you got the meet was kept "organic" (free roaming) and wasn't injected full of hormones, chemicals and steroids then yeah it should be a very healthy grade of meat. Similar too elk. Both elk and buffalo were originally "grazers" instead of "browsers" (like deer) so their meat is very desirable and tasty when cooked properly. Like anyother lowfat meat, attention must be paid too moisture and temperature or it will quickly dryout and overcook.

Try it, you'll LOVE it!!!

Its kida expensive and I'm pretty sure that the elk and deer I eat are just as good for you. So I'm going to have to skip the bandwagon on this one.

Buffalo is very good. I wouldn't stop eating venison just to eat buffalo, but it is very good nonetheless.

I've not had bison in quite a while. I've toyed with the idea of going to a shooting ranch out west and killing one, 1,000 pounds of great meat, a skull and one of those ultra cool bison rugs and I'd love toseehow my longbows/woodies/Zwickeys perform on a 2,000 pound animal - and when its all said and done probably less than buying hormone laced ribeyes.

I loved Buffalo meat when I tried it...I've had the burgers, steaks and evena roast...was very good...

Consider how important the Buffalo was to our Native Peoples andhow it sustained them for centuries....

After hunting and eating wild game, I have a hard time buying a beef steak or pork roast without wondering about what is in it...I will only if I can verify it's source as hormone free...

EH? What about MAD COW ? Eh? that is our own fault.

There is a place I always stop at, when out ridding the hog, that serves buffalo burgers and steaks. Its on the back roads south of Abilene. I always get a burger of a steak. Its very good meat.

Only way I would hunt them is with a home made bow and arrows indian style......Oh wait then I would need to run them down on horseback without a saddle. I guess I'll stick to buying the bison in restaurants that serve it..........................because I don't have a horse.
