I agree with that 100%, but that wasn't the topic.The jist of the topicwas that we don't need the gov't interfereing with our personal lives, even in matters of life and death.
I'm all for trimming the fat--when you have 5 guys watching one guy work, fire the 5. I don't think for one minute more laws will make a difference when the ones on the books aren't enforced--that's my big beef with the "immigration reform".
Back to the topic though--would it have been fine and dandy for Mike to rent his wife's body out to a flesh peddler? After all, according to some accounts she wasn't
really alive anyway, just an empty husk. Since he was the legal guardian, why should the gov't interfere if he wanted to make a few bucks on the side?
He can choose whether or not she lives or dies, but for anything else the gov't should decide? Now isn't that as hypocritical as deciding on whether or not a baby lives or dies depending on the way it was conceived? How about the question with the kids? Should the gov't interfere with the choices the legal guardian makes?
