Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Ottawa cuts links with Palestinian Authority, Hamas

"Canada will have no contact with the members of the Hamas cabinet and is suspending assistance to the Palestinian Authority," Foreign Affairs Minister Peter MacKay said in a statement.

But "Canada will continue to support and respond to the humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people," International Co-operation Minister Josée Verner said in the statement. She is responsible for aid programs.

Hamas won't recognize Isreal, so bye bye Hamas.

Interesting that they are saying the people will still get the humanitarian help.

Didn't Hamas get voted in by the people?

Ifferd, give us a twist on this one will ya?

I was thinking that very thing when I read this post.

The Canadian goobermint's action is directed at the Palestian goob , not the people themselves . Personally , I think it took some serious balls for them to take that stance , and I wish every other goob followed their example . Hamas is nothing but a bunch of terrorists , as was Fatah before them , why should any goob contribute financially to them ? Fine , send food and medicine to the average folks , but don't send money to those terrorists in charge of them . They would only use the money to further their terrorist causes anyway .

This is one of those " Keep religion out of government " times?

But what if " religion was the government" for centuries ?

Any government in Afghanistan will have to work with the clerics to a certain extent as they start to understand democracy and a free market society. I think they always lived a freedom just under a really cautious and over protective eye (big brother the cleric)...

The situation over Hamas has me wondering what is next. With Sharon so conveniently in a coma, things are about to get really interesting.

I'll add a point or twoabout Iraq.

Does anyone see a pattern to the nature of the attacks?

Iraq's religious/political structure was/is similar to that of Afghanistan's is it not?
