Illegal immigration is an enormous problem here , yet these dipsheits are protesting because illegal immigrants are being singled out by pending legislation in the Congress . The legislation being considered would make beinghere illegally a felony, clamps down on companies that hire them , and would erect fences along the US-Mexico border. This is the mentality that we're up against:

"They're here for the American Dream," said Malissa Greer, 29, who joined a crowd estimated by police to be at least 10,000 strong. "God created all of us. He's not a God of the United States, he's a God of the world."
The American Dream also has channels that must be followed , Malissa . It's called proceedure .

RE: Here's the real enemy in the immigration war .
i wonder what the person quoted would say to their job being taken by an illegal? its bad enough our jobs are going overseas but to have jobs in are country being given to someone that will do the work at a fraction of the pay because they don't pay taxes or FICA, ithink that could eventually cripple our economy.

You've just gotta love the libbie hypocrites. If anybody on the right invokes or even alludes to God, they are accused of trying to turn the US into a theocracy. Yet, the libbies, trip over one another to do the same when it suits their nefarious purposes.
Someone should survey the 500,000 morons protesting in Los Angeles and see if they are willing to give up their job / student loan / welfare check for these illegals they are so eager to help.

I think it's a bunch of posing on both sides. More/new immigration laws will be just as effective at slowing it down as new gun laws are at curbing gun crimes. I may be off base here, but isn't sneaking into the country a crime already? How about enforcing laws that are already on the books? More laws won't mean jack if they aren't enforced--it just makes Congress look like they are doing something, and gives them something else to fuss about.

when they legally become AMERICANS they can drop the Mexican, the African or the whatever they want to putbefore AMERICAN and be co-citizens with us.
Until then they are NOT citizens and are not wanted IMO. Send their asses back, in fact kick them very HARD back, slam them with felonies, rough em up .......... ANYTHING to stop this illegal immigration.
RE: Here's the real enemy in the immigration war .
This entire issue is really starting to annoy me.
Most annoying was the president's comment a few days ago that "Mexicans are only taking the jobs Americans don't want." Horse hockey! I've really grown weary of hearing this oft-repeated lie. Isn't it interesting how the "list of jobs Americans don't want" is growing so quickly? Mr. Bush should have a chat with some of the workers who were totally happy with their jobs until they were squeezed out for cheaper labor. Indeed, many of these so-called "jobs Americans don't want" are jobs Americans don't work because employers are no longer to pay them a worthy wage for doing that job. Why should they, with growing areas of the country becoming inundated by illegals (or legals, for that matter) who will work for a fraction of the cost? Is what the employers are doing illegal? Technically, no. But with 12 million of them currently in our country and more coming every day, how long before they start seeking out your job or mine?
Regarding the statement about them learning to speak English: I couldn't agree more. It's often said that they shouldn't be required to speak English because English isn't America's official language, blah blah blah. And that's true! But, see, no one is telling anyone that they cannot speak in their native tongue, or even that they cannot use it as their primary language in conversation. But why should we, as American taxpayers, have to pay additional money to provide Spanish classes for our veteran teachers, or to provide all sorts of government agents in various agencies, who are bilingual, simply because Mexicans refuse to learn the language that is dominant in America? It all goes back to what I have often said: Everyone wants in the "Great Melting Pot," but no one wants to melt. Enough, I say!
And then here's the president again posing in front of the cameras with Vicente Fox. Why do we continue to loan this man credence? As far as I'm concerned, the moment he began clamoring for the U.S. to install floodlights and watering troughs on our side of the border to aid illegals skipping across the border, he lost absolutely all credibility.
End of my rant.
