Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Economic Impact of the DPW Debacle

http://news.yahoo.com/fc/world/united_arab_emirates

I warned that Arab investors would take their money elsewhere were the U.S. to deny the DPW deal. Now we can look forward to seeing Europe, India and China get more business that should've come to the U.S. in the first place.

yep, it was a slippery slope. One hand, we call em friends and go over there and ask them for help to keep our gas prices low. Next, we in the name of sercurity, tell them, sure not all of you are bad, but because your a muslim nation, we can't allow you to think of running our ports. It didn't make us any friends.

My company might see a backlash also. There is a telecom company there we were working on a big deal with. I think they might pick a French company now. Well see.

If there ever was a case of shooting your self in the foot Wya comes thru again.Instead of coming out and announcing this deal first he lets his enemies in the main stream media tell all the brain dead people sitting in front of the bbod tube how terrorist are taking over our ports.
It is called promotion ,kindda like they do with the movies they show you the good parts so you will like it.
The man is his own worst enemy.

Painting every Arab as a terrorist shows how simplistic your thought process is. I don't know where you've been in the past couple decades, but businesses are run on a global scale nowadays. Just as American companies operate billions of dollars worth of operations around the world, so do other countries here. It's called we scratch your back; you scratch ours. America has built commercial and diplomatic relationships with foreign nations since the beginning of our history. The only thing that has changed now is that many Americans view all Arabs as jihadists.

That makes about as much sense as calling all Americans imperialists....

The news media feeds this frenzie more every day with pictures from Iraq & then you have that little problem some of the Arabs had with a cartoon.Their image around the world is more of bombs than flowers.

You talk business. These are the boys who set up the hate schools. The same ones who made sure thatpakistan got nukes. The same ones who put up the money for the extremists.I was very specific about which Muslims I was talking about. I don't give a crap about global scale business. There is right and there is wrong. This country is in trouble, business wise, because of demographics and on top of that all the young people are being told to put money in the stock market who in turn spend it out of the country. You can make money short term but the bill is going to come due. What happens when the Chinese and others stop putting money into the debt. Higher interest rates? I'll tell what is going to happen. They are going to print money like crazy. They are going to scratchyour back all right. With a damn knife.I have been retired for the last 10 years, but I was knee deep when all this bull crap bean counting started.I saw great companies with 6 % growth get taken to the wood shed because of greed. Now everything is all screwed up and the kids are going to pay. Did I clarify my simplistic stance.I going for supper.

Quit blaming the new media when it helps bring issues to light. Bush lost the backing of his own party in this fiasco. One thing for sure, Bush is not helping out his party in the congressional reelections.
