Boy I thought that one was close! Thank God that deal went south. No telling what would have happened if the Arab's took over. My hat's off to those in Congress who didn't back down to Bush!

This deal went south because of racism and little else. I would like to think that Americans can handle their fears, but I guess not.

Screw 'em. I don't care if you want to lable it as racist or not. I am just SICK AND TIRED of this country being sold out too foreigners with each passing day. I am GLAD they threw the towel in and I hope similar things begin to happen elsewhere. Awhile back the Chinese were prevented from buying a huge oil company here, now the ragheads have been prevented from taking over 6 of our ports. I say, "THANK YOU GOD!!!"

Too me it's not about the politics, I completely understand the President and am sure the arabs would've been ok. They aren't anymore likely to throw $7billion out the window than anyone else. BUT I am much more hopeful that sllllllllllooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwlllllllllllllllll lllyyyy this country is waking up and realizing that you can't continue to whore out this nation and continue to buy cheap foreign produced crap "in the name of affordable consumerism" and "Global Economics". The more we keep here and "bring back ashore" the more high quality jobs we'll all have and the better off our nation (and more importantly OUR CHILDREN's FUTURES!!!) will be in the long run.

The deal, The sale was final before this all started. They will sublet it to an american company. They already bought the contract from the Brits. The contract was all they ever bought. No property or ports were ever to change hands. Security was and still is and will always be in the hands of the Coast Guard, and Homeland security. This was the biggest non event ever to stir up such a useless uproar that I have seen in my years. If it were not so pitiful it would be the biggest laugh on earth.

I guess the polititions made some people feel good even though they changed nothing. The port operations to the tune of about 80 percent are and will remain under foreign operatio. Mostly Chinese. Feel better Now.
