Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

India is actually the largest democracy anywhere , they've also had nukes for quite awhile now , and other than rattling them at Pakistan occasionally they've pretty well shown that they're mature enough to handle them responsibly . Pakistan having the bomb comes closer to making me lose sleep than India does , Islam isn't even close to being as peaceful a religion as Hinduism and never will be . Like it or not , whether official members of the club or not any nation that has nukes is in the club . How they handle having them is what really counts in the long run .

Good to have you back Ifferd.

I'm pro-choice so I can't agree with #1 but I do agree on #2. We can't afford to alienate any more nations especially India. One day we will need friends like them and I think Bush made the right call to share technology with them.

Nice signature.

1) Yes I agree with Bush on his abortion principles of being pro-life while excepting cases of rape, incest or life of the mother.
(However, I find no Constituional backing for my or his views and believe the SC will always rule in favor of Roe.)
why is a baby concieved not by rape or incest any more deservig of life than one that is ?

2) I also agree with Bush on the Nuclear deal with India -- that's hard but I think it is for the best. India has nukes and will continue to have them - as our ally or our enemy.

So there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you have my deepest sympathies. in a different thread i had to announce that i agreed with bush on India, as well. i've smelled almonds ever since, which i believe is a sign of a stroke. the next morning, i awoke to find my hair turned white.

and welcome back. where ya been?

Pakistan has probably used their nuclear weapons as effectively as any nation since WWII. Their nuclear weapons have prevented war with India, which would have easily invaded and overran them if Pakistan were limited to conventional warfare. The current dictatorship in Pakistan realize the threat of the nuclear weapons is a much more effective tool than the actual use of such weapons.

The only real concern of mine with Pakistan is Iran deposing the current regime and replacing it with a radical group much like the current Iranian regime.
