It appears our African American friends (?) have found something else to be pissed about.Black congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas reputedly complained that the names of hurricanes are all Caucasian- sounding names. She would prefer that some names reflect African -American culture, such as Chamiqua, Woeisha, and Jamal. Can't you hear it now: a jive ass weatherman in Houston saying... "Wordup, Muthas! Hehr-i-cane Chamiqua be headin' fo' Galveston like Leroy on a crotch rocket!Bitch be a category fo'!So, turn off demchitlins, grab yo' chirren, leave yo crib, and head fo' de nearest FEMA office fo yo FREE ****."

LMAO it would revolutionize weather forecasting as we know it. Hopefully the Native Americans decide they want hurricanes named after them once the african americans have run out of hurricane names like Shaniqua and Antwon. Just imagine.... Hurricane Thomas White Buffalo, or Hurricanes Doug Tallwhiteman, Jesse Manyhoops, Victor Sunroads, and Ryan Bowstring. And the forecast could go something like this..... Hey innit! Big storm coming this way! Think it will come to the reservation?

Old news Jim. She was pissing about this when Katrina, Rita, and Wilma was coming through. Even some of her supporters thought she was nuts, and were actually kind of happy they were caucasian sounding because ther are "oppressive" storms and created devistation. One of her supporters was quotee in the Houston paper it was crazy in light of the fact a hurrican wiped out a predominately black city. her supporter's statement was something like "Why the hell would we want it named for one of us after Katrina?"
SHe made that statement around the time of the first Ray Nagin's y'all can come back now y'her?, and it was drowned out by the "Are you filpping stupid, mayor?" responses.
