funny- I'd never heard the term "wife beater" until a year or two ago. I think it's funny and always, or almost always used in a facetious way - no violence or harm intended. So I don't have any problem with you or I using the term and almost everyone I know including many feminist-types I know, think it's just a funny term, no big deal. But that said - I sure wouldn't use it in a flyer or newspaper ad. That's just stupid - of course it's just my opinion, but I wouldn't do it or allow anyone who works for me to do it.
