Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default BUSH : I WILL VETO ANY ATTEMPT TO BLOCK THE UAE FROM PORT

President Bush said Tuesday that the deal allowing an Arab company to take over six major U.S. seaports should go forward and that he would veto any congressional effort to stop it.
"After careful review by our government, I believe the transaction ought to go forward," Bush told reporters who had traveled with him on Air Force One to Washington. "I want those who are questioning it to step up and explain why all of a sudden a Middle Eastern company is held to a different standard than a Great British company. I am trying to conduct foreign policy now by saying to the people of the world, `We'll treat you fairly.'"

This is serious stuff, selling america seaport ?We better wake up and do something soon here people or we are not goanna have an america.....Bush isnotfor americaor her full protection...This could be the peace that gets broken after 31/2 years.... I say don't freakin let this happen...How are we to monitor what are in those crates comming from other countries..Money buys everything and anyone,You pay one of the workers a few mil to turn their heads while a canister gets loaded with a nuke,We are screwed...

For 7 years a treaty will be sign.
Bush must go out as one to be in history
The eagle is on the bears back. the time is now.

Bush will hit his 7th year soon. and as we all seen he goes to Russia a lot.
His family has been tied in with Russia for many of years.

I still can not see Bush as the anti-christ. But one that may be aiding him.

Also the anti-christ was born in 1964. (Jean Dixon)

I think Customs should be in charge of port security, not any foreign company which includes a British one or Saudi one.

Fellows, if we're truly not discriminating against all Arabs, or all Muslims, or whatever, over terrorism, then there is no reason not to allow this deal with UAE to go through.

I mean, I personally think that no Muslim nor no Arab should be trusted, and I've stated my beliefs on that on this forum several times. But I've also been hounded a little bit over those beliefs, so I would hope that those who get angry because I say all Middle Eastern Muslims are out to get us are not going to speak against Bush and the UAE deal.

The fact of the matter is that the UAE has been an ally in the war on terror, and their government has no ties to terrorism. Now some of the terrorists came from UAE. However, we have arrested folks from right here in the good ol' U.S. of A. who have been aiding the terrorists . . . some of whom were not only U.S. citizens but who were born and raised here.

Considering that something like 95% of port inspections are done by the company or companies controlling the ports, I don't like the idea of any foreign company controlling our ports, period. Especially a Middle Eastern company. However, from many of those who are protesting this, there's a little bit of hypocricy oozing through.

Only one nationality should be doing anything with our ports:

AMERICANS

it's not hypocracy, Ben, it's common sense. unlike our criminal laws, there is no "beyond a reasonable doubt" standard about who we voluntarily enter into contractual relations with. similarly, this is not a search and seizure case, where the government is intruding upon the rights of an individual.

the company in question is owned by the UAE. while they may recently be cooperating with the war on terror, their track record is questionable. the UAE has often accused the US of jointly sponsoring terrorism with our "zionist assassin" allies, Israel. their choice of words in quotes, not mine. they were one of only 3 governments worldwide to recognize the legitimacy of the taliban. they have been big supporters of Hamas. they are also suspected of being a covert transfer point for shipments of nuclear components into Iran, Libya, and North Korea.

Is there enough there for a criminal conviction? maybe not, but that isn't the standard here. there is enough information to tip a reasonable person off to the fact that we might be putting orson welles in charge of the twinkies...

I don't know if the UAE should or should not be involved b/c I haven't had time to read up on it. But I'm a little uneasy about ANYONE, except us, controlling ANYTHING TO DO WITH US. So...
I agree, Kevin!
