Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default thoughts from 3:38 am in the morning

I work with a Katrina victim. I say victim because his house was in Slidell, Ponchatrain flooded it, Katrina hammered it, almost a total loss. His insurance company covered hurricane damage, but not flood damages, and they said 98% of his home was damaged by flood, not hurricane. Imagine that huh ?

Anyway, we work for same company and they transferred him to my town. $5,000 relocation was given for that. His wife is an RN type specialist and got a job almost immediately. He tallied up tonight what he's been given in cash only and ya'll want to take a guess ? Thats Federal gifts, FEMA cards, housing allowances etc etc.

$42,000

Cash.

Toss in that he also was given all his clothing for himself, wife, 6 year old and mother in law, all his house furnishings and absolutely everything else he needs to live by organizations like the Red Cross and others, and the total probably doubles the above number.

Multiply that times how many LA evacuees ? 100,000 ? 200,000 ?

Staggering numbers aren't they ? And he's applied for a FEMA investigation to try and get Federal aid to rebuild his house. He could get up to $90,000 cash to do that too.

And the beauty of this ? Had he NOT had insurance on his house, FEMA would have already rebuilt it or cut him a check for it. That he DID have insurance that just didn't cover enough is what caused him to have total losses on his home.

But in the great scheme of things, better for our govt to spend money on our own than pouring it into a worthless program or giving it to another country to spend I guess ..............

Dick Cheney shot a man by accident. A hunting ACCIDENT that happens to hundreds of people each year. Apply everything you are saying about Cheney to all of those people too.

It was an accident, and 2 really old men out shooting shotguns it isn't surprising it happened really

Winter Olympics suck. Bode Miller SUCKS. Kwan sucks.

If you ever had any doubts about how frickin wacked out Islamic followers are, look no further than day 8 or 9 or whatever of the riots and burnings and killing over .............. yes, a cartoon. THIS cartoon,

Now, maybe I'm the carazy one here, but you don't go around killing and looting and burning over a frickin cartoon unless you're a really freaked out, wacked out religious extremist, right ?

Did anyone catch the little bit of news on the boy who found the stash from the DB Cooper airline jacking selling some of the bills ? I'd forgotten much about that whole deal - fascinating story

I'm not sure what to think of this Bird Flu thing. Overeaction or justified fear ?

Detroit Pistons are a good ball club, REALLY good

After running 3 miles on Sunday, 3 miles on Monday and 2 hours of raquetteball tonight, I have more appreciation and admiration for my wife who set a PR last weekend with a 21 minute 5K. She runs up to 12 miles a day, every day, without fail. Gawd .......... if only I had that kind of dedication ..........

Yeah, what is this world coming to?!

Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies. Rivers and seas boiling.Forty years of darkness. Earthquakes, volcanoes...The dead rising from the grave.Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together--MASS HYSTERIA!

Thanks for the cartoon. I've been wondering what it looked like. Wonder why we haven't seen it on TV or in our newspapers. Maybe I've just missed it, but I hope our media hasn't become intimidated into censoring itself.
