A lot of these internet forums run off the same basic software. If one really wanted to yank some chains, it would not be too difficult to write a small program to automaticallypost to various forums. One could even occasionally quote a previous post occasionally toenhance credibility.
I remember reading about somebody who didsomething similarwith AOL Instant Messaging. He he had a very common screen name and people often sent him IM's by mistake. He wrote a snipped of a program that would send minimal responses (i.e. "interesting", "tell me more", "what do you think about that"). People would have long conversations with his auto-responder, often telling practically their whole life story.
