i would like to become an enviornmental... lol? id want to be a conservation officer but im not aware of there being alot of job oppurtunities plus.. opening days i would be forced to work
is there any other ideas?
i hunt for deer,turkey,duck,geese,
i fish for trout,and bowfish carp
any ideas on other jobs i could look into after high school

Well you could be a park ranger, game or conservation warden, but you'll probaly need some type of degree in forestry, animal biology, etc. I'm on my fifth year in the us army and I have two more. When i get out I'm gonna try to be a game warden for WI. Good luck. Get some college!

I took three years to become a Resources Engineering Technologist, only to work 2yrs as a land surveyor, 1.5yrs as an AutoCad Operator (draftsman), followed by 8yrs in the Environmental Site Assessment and Remdiation (ESAR) group for a large consulting company.
I speak with Consevation Officers every chance I get because thats where I want to be, I always hear the same thing : take a law enforcement course. I don't know about New York, but in Ontario I would take any job just to get my foot in the door of the MNR. I work outdoors just so I can offord to get outdoors, problem is most environmental work is near civilization.

OK, Im rambling, not sure what to tell you except environmental (gasoline, PCBs) is alot different from resources (timber, fish, wildlife), and there will be ALOT of competion for a government job that pays you to drive around hunting spots in a pick-up truck.

how 'bout being a wildlife biologist? i use to work under one, kinda like an under study before i got into law enforcement. it was fun, but being an understudy, the pay sucked. the wildlife biologist here in florida make decent money and pretty much run all of the public management area's. they make the decisions on how the game can be taken, how much game can one person harvest at one time, how long the season is, etc.

the local e.s.f college is within everyday driving distance and id earn a syracuse degree.
i would move out of state to work if neccesary
