As I read article after article pertaining to Islamic terrorists, there is one question that seems to be brought up time after time...And that is; Where is the outrage from the rest of the muslim community?
That got me to thinking...
For forty years, the most hatefull and extremest racists this country has ever known used the Confederate battle flag as an emblem to signify their cause. In fact, It was often flown side by side with the Nazi flag at rallys. As a result, many people consider the "Stars and Bars" to besynonymous with hate and bigotry.
Is the same thing going to happen to the Islamic religion? Are the "regular" folks gonna sit by and say nothing, only to wake up one morning to be despised by the entire planet?
It's not my attempt to compare the confederate battle flag to terrorists, but I find it kind of ironic that in both cases it is the extremests that take an ideal and basterdize it to mean something else while the masses sit idly by and watch it happen.
What do you want good muslims to do? Like the good christians they are to busy working and raising their familys to march on Washington, ect, ect.Besides they are terrorized also.

Some couple complained they were traumatized by the swastikas so the community got together and raised over $14K to have them removed. Wouldn't it be a lot easier teaching folks the origins of the symbol and doing something constructive with the money?

You would think so. But that makes too much sense!!!!! Why would any logical person want to do that??? Then there would be nobody to sue/march against/accuse of racism. I agree with you Richard. But doing the logical thing never crosses these people's minds. (if they have one).

Dave, I'm not so sure that their silent majority considers it completely bastardized by the radicals.
One need only look at the amount of silence in the muslim world when they were beheading innocent people.

I've been to Lee Chapel in Lexington VA a number of times and seen the "Recumbent Lee" and the actual battle flags flown in many Civil War battles and it makes me sick to think of that flag being hijacked by racists.
By the way, the battle flag is not the Stars and Bars. Just a small but important point.
