Yes the politics played in my state are dirty, ruthless and I don't know what else to add. Besides the Governor and Chicago Mayor Daley yet again trying to force a statewide ban on assault weapons which would technically include other semi-auto sporting arms.....now the democrat controlled state senate are supporting the recently enacted legislation which will greatly increase property taxes on wooded land. This in turn will not only hurt farmers/landowners but hunters as well.
My state representative says more landowners will either sell their wooded land or bulldoze it under in hopes of increasing farmable acreage. In turn I told him it will decrease the amount of land that some farmers still permit hunters to use for free. Leasing will become even more prevelent(sp) and current lease prices will most likely continue to increase. As I see it, its not only more of a burden on landowners but to sportsmen as well.
Isn't politics wonderful in the great state of Chicago?[:@] First we have a past Republican governor standing trial on rackettering charges and our current democratic governor has been ramming some of his devious and damaging ideas down our throats.
Just move north of the border...Oh wait, nevermind, we have a corrupt democratic machine in our state too, just not as far down the road to hell as Illinois yet.[:@]
