Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Well, what'd you think? (State of the Union)

So we need to close the borders, be concerned about the global economy, lessen our dependence on crude oil, etc. etc.

I'm not dis'ing the Pres, but this sounded a bit more like a campaign speach than a State of the Union address to me. I heard a few lies, a few empty promises, and a few statistics. But for the most part I heard all about what we need to do - we need to this, we need to do that. Ok, let's do it then?

What'd you think?

As much as I support the Pres, am a straight line party voter (Repub.) I can honestly say I am SICK of hearing the same ol BLAH BLAH BLAH. Shut the hell up and just DO IT!

EVERY party promises the moon and in the end they typically do anything BUT what they say they are going to do! I don't understand WHY politicans from both sides of the isle can't just stand up and say, "Ok this may not be popular but my give a schitter is broke and this is the way it's going to be"!!!

Talk is as cheap as Swillary Clintons perfume,

I heard him say much more than propose empty promises. I heard him challenge Congress, Democrats and Republicans, to join him in attacking the very real and meaty proposals he made. I noticed the cameras did a pretty good job of NOT showing the Democrats setting on their duffs with chewing sliced lemon looks on their ugly mugs.

I caught it right about the time he started defending the "patriot" acts. So I flipped back over to South Park. I find the state of the union address about as interesting as you do, Red. A lot of blah blah blah with not very much substance. Everybody has a catfish mouth and a tadpole body.

didn't watch it, but let me guess: "what he said" (what he's thinking)

1 - "well oil prices are too high, way too high, so I am going to do everything I can to help...... blah, blah, blah" (man I am making an ...Deleted by Calhunter... LOAD of money!!!)

2 - "taxes should be lowered... blah, blah" (lets let them stupid people hear what they want, they buy it every time)

3 - "we will continue to support Iraq in their quest for democracy .... stand strong, tow the line, yadda, yadda...." (ha, ha I got Saddam, my Daddy's headache, I just wish they would stop shooting at & killing our troops, did they find all those WOMD yet???, this is all keeping the oil prices high - see item 1)

4 - "this will be a prosperous year, and the economy will grow, blah, blah" (I can't believe I have to deal with all this ...Deleted by Calhunter... I created for another 2 years)

5 - "we will do all we can to do .. insert topic" (I will say whatever it is the public wants to hear to try and look good and get my approval rating out of the basement)

6 - "....we'll spend hear to help that, spend hear to assist here & there, and there..." (have I spent down all the surplus that was created during the last administration, is the economy totally screw up for the next guy???)

way to go GW, keep up the good work [:'(]

What you heard was mostly rhetoric written by a speach writer. How many hundreds of times have we heard this more or less same speach? Too many now in my opinion. Don't take me wrong - I vote a straight Rep ticket, but come on, they are all freaking liars.

Let me give you a few examples.

"We are addicted to foreign oil." No kidding? You don't say.

"We have spent xxx billion on energy resources and will continue to explore this area to free ourselves from foreign oil." Ok fine. What has that got us so far? Where are we at with that now? And stating that electric/hybrid cook-your-brain-like-riding-in-a-microwave automobiles are the answer is not good enough.

Lie: "Education is getting better." Oh really? Not according to what I can see and studies have shown us.

"We need to be competitive in the global economy." "We need to secure our borders." Both of these statements will never be true no matter how glorious this pipe dream may be. Trade deficits/happenings as well as economies all over the country being eroded away by illegals are proving this.

Nah. I'm sick of all these politicians. Watching that pathetic speach last night gave me no hope for this president to do anything. It was quite entertaining to watch Billary roll her eyes though.
